In High School Musical 2 Sharpay very clearly states that they have “…Iced tea imported from England, life guards imported from Spain, towels imported from Turkey, and turkey imported from Maine.” In order to import an item, it must come from another country. The series is set in Albequerque, New Mexico, and as New Mexico and Maine are both part of the United States Of America, they cannot have their turkey imported from Maine. As most of the characters are white, and all speak English, this clearly indicates that High School Musical takes place in an alternate universe where a second Civil War has split the nation and New Mexico is no longer part of the Union, based on the fact that we never see the characters celebrate the Fourth of July. In this essay I will

For some reason a bird speaking Japanese is mildly off putting.

> Literal translation

Bird:“ ‘Uhm Hello, this is the Ono family.”

Bird: “What’s wrong?”

Owner: “Abe-chan, you’re a little too early. Once the phone’s picked up, then properly say hello.”

Bird: “Okay, understood.”

Owner: “Do you really understand? I’m counting on you. Hello, this is the Ono family residence in Gifu.”]

Bird: “Okay, I understand!”

Owner: “Got it.”

> That’s clearly some sort of Pokemon.

> Off-putting? It’s like birds were meant to speak Japanese!

> For some reason it’s never occurred to me that birds can mimic languages other than English. It’s so cool, though!

1900 as a whole century is so wild to me like it started off without people having sliced bread and it ended with seinfeld on TV

This usage drives me mad.

1900 is not a century.  1900 is a YEAR.  It’s the year after 1899 and before 1901.   ‘The twentieth century’ is SO MUCH clearer.  Or, if you prefer, 1900-1999.

I wish people would stop saying ‘Tolkien was from the nineteenth century’ but ‘from 1800′ is so much worse, more wrong and more confusing.

Tolkien was born in 1892.  So he was a child at the end of the century, and his entire working life was spent not in Victorian Britain, but in the era of decolonisation, the move to universal suffrage, two world wars, and the creation of the Welfare State. That’s the context his work fits into.  If you try to interpret him in the context of the British Empire at its zenith, you might as well give the man a smartphone and a Youtube account.

Im sorry did Tolkein write Seinfeld? No? Yeah I thought so. Because he wasnt a good enough writer to do it. Get off my post or ill send you back to the century of 1700 with my (real) wizard powers.

“Average person has one destined soulmate” factoid actually just statistical error. Average person has 137 people who satisfy destined soulmate parameters. Heinous Georg, who lives in cave and is fated nemesis of every living creature on Earth, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.
